Week 6

I have good reason to be posting this a week late. I was out of town last week. But it was taken last week and still counts.

This week's picture was a product of photoshop. I had an idea of how I wanted to execute this with a single shot, but the logistics of it got really hairy, really quickly. Especially considering it was a self-portrait, taken with the timer function. So I chopped it up, did some layering with pictures, and called it a day. Also, I used my flash, because I'm trying really hard to get better at that, but I'm just not where I want to be. The picture is in focus (quite crisp, actually), but you'd never know it, because there's still this hazy quality to it. So I don't know if that just comes with the territory of shooting with a flash, or if I'm missing something. Either way, it bothers me. Oh well.
On an un-related note, I'm still not sure about my new bangs.

Week 5

Wow. I'm totally early this week.

I had seen pictures of this building with walruses up on the facade of the second story. So I've been telling myself that I would go downtown to take pictures for weeks now. And, for some reason, I always talked myself out of it. But I finally went there yesterday. And I wandered around Pioneer Square just a bit. So here are the pictures. (btw, I totally planned on sharing my shooting info, but I also didn't plan on sharing so many pictures every week. And it's because of that fact, that I don't put the info on here. Sorry. If you're dying to know any of it, leave a comment and I'll let you know.)

Week 3

Yes, I'm late posting this. But I really did take these pictures during the appropriate week. Promise.

I went to Kuboda Gardens. I had never been before, but heard all about it. I loved it there. I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to, due to the sun setting. Also, the lighting wasn't the best, and I needed a tripod for a lot of the shots I wanted to get. So, I will be going back.

week 2

I went to the conservatory at Volunteer Park today and took way too many pictures. But all the plants were so cool and photographed so well. The good thing is this is a blog dedicated solely to photography, so I can post a million pictures guilt-free. And because of the sheer number of pictures, I will not be posting the picture info. But all were shot at ISO 400 with a 50mm lens. F/stop was usually somewhere between f/2-f/4, with some exceptions.

"Macro" (see below)

These look like two very in love octopuses.

Sometime I just love an over-exposed picture.

The last few are "macro". I don't have a macro lens, but I have a macro filter. I've owned it for years, but this was the first time I'd really used it, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked.
